Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, better popularly known as Ari Lennox, is an American artist and performer from Washington, D.C., who was the first woman to join J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. Her first EP, Pho which was released on 21 October 2016 was released by Dreamville Records. Her career began to grow in fame. Shea Butter Baby is her debut album. The release date was May 2019. Ari Lennox released her debut tracks online in 2012. She dropped Five Finger Discount in 2013 and Ariography EP in 2013. In 2014 she continued to make music available on the internet including her independently released single Bound. In July of 2015, Omen featured her on his album Elephant Eyes featuring the track Sweat It Out. J. Cole, who was a member of the Dreamville crew at that time was interested in having her work on Rihanna in reference to Rihanna. On the 8th of December, it was reported that she had signed to Dreamville Records. She made an appearance on the collaborative album Revenge of the Dreamers II on the track Backseat with Cozz. In the month of October she debuted her debut EP, Pho. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change track and also opened with the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. In 2018, she was featured in two tracks with EarthGang's Nothing but the Best song as well as Bas' Icarus. Ari Lennox's album debut Shea Butter Baby was released on the 16th of July, 2018. First single, Whipped Cream From the album was released on in September 5th, 2018, accompanied by a an accompanying music video. Then, in November, she released the singles 40 Shades of Choke & Grampa. And on the 13th of November she dropped two more singles, titled No One and Pdigree. Shea Butter Baby was released in her debut single the 26th of February, 2019, for the album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby appeared together with Cole as part of her Creed II sound track on November 16. The track was supported by the release of a music video on February 20, 2019, which reached 3 million views on YouTube within its first seven days. She was the supporting act for 6LACK in their From East Atlanta With Love Tour in December, 2018.
